Gatomon
Gatomon waited its whole life for Kari so it's understandable that it loves her very much. Kari loves her digimon too because she gets attached to everyone very quickly. They understand eachother well, because they both had a bad experience with darkness (Gatomon was used and tortured by Myotismon, Kari's crest is light). They are like two female best friends.

Magical Ring
Gatomon has it on its tail. It gives it more power. In the first season 2 episode it loses the ring while running away from Unimon. I can't remember, if Gatomon was really not that powerful anymore. Anyway, Genai returns the ring in one of the last episodes.
