Different Animation Directors

Have you ever noticed that characters in Digimon Tamers (not just here of course) aren't always drawn the same? According to Wikipedia that's because of all the different animation directors that take part in creating a certain show (at least that's how it's supposed to be in Japan). Thanks to Onkei-kun (again.) I got the names of the people behind Digimon Tamers and here they are!

1) SHIGETAKA KIYOYAMA
Animation director for episodes: 1, 9, 16, 24, 32, 39 and 46

Well ... Quite normal looking Rika and Ryo. Not my favourite but it's ok, right?

2) YOSHITAKA YAJIMA
Animation director for episodes: 2, 8, 14, 20, 27, 34, 41 and 48

This style is probably my favourite. Rika's hair looks so alive and (maybe a bit too) big and she looks a bit more girly than with other directors. Ryo - at least on the pic I've chosen - looks really sweet. :3

3) YUKIO EBISAWA
Animation director for episode 3.

No idea why this artist only had one episode (with no Ryo in it), Rika looks fine to me. It's really hard to write long comments to styles that don't have something very different from the others. It's a normal Tamers style, I'd say!

4) MASAHIRO NAOI
Animation director for episodes: 4, 10, 18 and 25

I really like this one. I find it really cute and it's the one where Tamers sometimes have a longer distance between their eyes (wow, I'm so good at explaining things x)), which makes them look a bit weird - in a cute way, I think.

5) TOMOKO ITOU
Animation director for episodes: 5, 11, 19, 26, 33, 40 and 47

Wow, this pic of Ryo would make a great wallpaper, don't you think? xD I like it. Tamers' heads are more rounded - except Ryo's, probably because he's older and doesn't have that child-head anymore. x)

6) TOSHIO DEGUCHI
Animation director for episodes: 6, 15, 22, 29, 37, 45 and 51

Probably the most weird-looking Tamers style. Not trying to be mean! The style you secretly wish to be replaced with number 2 or 4 but you still like it, right?!

7) AKIHIRO ASANUMA
Animation director for episodes: 7, 12, 17, 23, 31, 36, 43 and 50

A very decent Tamers style, no special characteristics to talk about it more, very nice indeed.

8) SETSUKO NOBUZANE / head chief animation director
Animation director for episodes: 13, 21, 28, 35, 42 and 49

Again, nice drawn Rika and Ryo. Help me, I have no idea what else to say and so I spam spam spam!

9) NAOYOSHI YAMAMURO
Animation director for episodes: 30, 38 and 44

Oooh, look at Ryoo!! Khem khem ... I like it because I think Tamers actually look as old as they are (look at Ryo!). I randomly picked these pictures and that's no guarantee that they look younger in all mr. Yamamuro's episodes but that's the first thing that popped into my head after seing my selection. :D

9b) MOVIE #5 DIRECTOR - NAOYOSHI YAMAMURO

Mr. Yamamuro again. This time in not so young looking style ... Too bad. (I love the third pic!)

10) MOVIE #6 DIRECTOR - KEN UENO

My top of the top, my favourite Tamers look (yeah yeah, besides the number two). Rika's hair is so alive (look at her fronthair! Oh my, you'll think that my criteria is build on vivacity of random hair (I so used the dictionary right now) ,, but admit it, awesome hair can make a big difference!) and Ryo looks really cool. If I think of him, this is how I imagine he looks like. D:
