Colour blue
We know that Ryo and Rika's D-Power is blue and that could have a meaning. I googled the colour to see what it means and I chose ONE of many different explanations! So if you have another explanation about blue, you can always email me! :)
BLUE - harmony, passivity, satisfaction, infinity, soul, darkness ...
As you can see blue has many meanings! xD Let's see how we can connect these things to Rika or Ryo.
Harmony - It suits to Rika when she and Renamon digivolve to Sakuyamon; she says it's warm there and Sakuyamon is a mystic Digimon, the music around Sakuyamon in the original version can be called harmonic!
Passivity - I can't connect this to any of them! Could we say Rika was passive in her relationship with Renamon? She didn't accept her as a friend immediately, she closed her eyes before the truth (that she really cared for her Digimon) and believed that Digimon were only for fighting. Well, why not! :D
Satisfaction - Uuurgh ... Rika was satisfied when Renamon defeated a Digimon. But inside she wasn't pleased because Renamon couldn't digivolve. She also had some problems with her mother, because she didn't accept her as she was. But I think Rika becomes a happy person towards the end. So she is satisfied in the end! :p And Ryo ... he doesn't seem to have any problems with satisfaction. He's always happy and energetic.
Infinity - Rika in Sakuyamon's form ... you can't deny it! It's something deep about them! Ryo in Justimon's form too I guess ... Every Tamer in their Mega form managed to do something deep with their Digimon. And all that shining and one colour and no clothes on (xD) seems kinda pure and endless. Ryo maybe also as a mysterious character, that isn't only shown in Tamers but in other Digimon stuff too. Travelling trough dimensions is something special and endless too! He never knows when he'll have to go to another dimension!
Soul - ok, Rika and Sakuyamon-thing again, Ryo's love to Cyberdramon - he left his normal life in the real world and went with his partner to the DigiWorld ... it was a bit of a sacrifice!
Darkness - Rika in the beginning of the show. She doesn't get along with anyone, her mother won't accept her, she doesn't want to believe Renamon's her friend ... The episode when IceDevimon kidnaps her was pretty dark. Not to mention the sixth movie, where she remembered her father and sang with him (even though she doesn't like singing). She was really sad at the end of the movie. Ryo ... hmm ... I'll say his travelling again. It must be hard if you have to leave everything you know behind and go to another demension. I bet he's depressed some times!
So, that's it. We can find both of them in colour blue, which doesn't mean that they're the only once who fit the colour! Juri is also a perfect candidate, don't you think? I'll say that they both have blue D-Power because blue is probably the most favourite colour and it's suits men and women! It's not like girly pink (poor Kenta xD). It's also a strong colour with character, these meanings are just maybe a bit too depressive but we can still se both of them in this colour. I think they just gave both of them blue because they're both Tamers with character. I'm not sure if they thought about psychology when they choose the colours. Probably not! xD
