Akiyama Ryou / Ryo Akiyama
Ryou is a very mysterious character. There's much I could say about him but I'll just stay in Digimon Tamers. If you want to read more, take a look at DigiRoyalty!Ryou is a 14-years old boy, the best Digimon TCG (Trading Card Game) player. That's why he's also called the 'Digimon King'. After a TCG tournament Ryou mysteriously disappeared. Not even his father knew what was going on. In the 28th episode he appears for the first time and we hear his story.
Ryou has a Digimon named Cyberdramon. Cyberdramon is an Ultimate and an extremly wild Digimon. Ryou can control him most of the time but not all the time. Cyberdramon's character is how it is because he's obssesed with his greatest opponent. He's searching for him and he attacks many other Digimon thinking this could be his biggest opponent. Since he was really dangerous in the real world, Ryou decided to go to the DigiWorld with him. So he left his real life and his father and stayed in the DigiWorld for a year. Then he went back home with other Tamers and his father didn't seem really happy to see him. He was angry because Ryou left him without saying a word.
However, Ryou is a very nice and helpful person. Everybody likes him (Hirokazu and Kenta even worship him for being the 'Digimon King'), Ruki is the only one who isn't impressed by him. He's famous but he's very humble about it - most of the time (not always xD).
