Rika's Appearance

I really like informations that are coming straight from me. But since I didn't play any Digimon games (except for Digimon Racing xD) I must collect the infos from other pages and write it down here. I may try some games once though ...

Digimon Tamers

(Something I can write alone xD!) So, Rika appears already in the first episode of the third season. Not quite directly at first, she shows up in Takato's dreams. Takato is having a dream about Rika and Renamon fighting against another Digimon and defeating him. I'm not sure if it was a real dream, he was kinda standing above this action, watching them. Well, Rika did see him in this dream but he didn't remember him in the reality, so it probably was a kind of a dream. However, later we see her listening to her walkman/mp3/ipod/whatever (xD). When we watch her, she doesn't really seem like a 10 years old girl. T_T Why do they have to be so young??

Rika is one of the three main characters of this season. Not the head of the group, because she's not wearing goggles ... It's written at digimontamers resources that the producers planned to make a mixed group even before they started to make the show. And they had a reason to make Rika a powerful tomboyish girl. If I may quote the site (since I don't really understand the sentence to write it in my own words ... here it is! the language barrier! -_-): ''Past marketing trends not only for the Digimon series, but for children's animation over all, had proven that products based on female characters did not sell in a boys' action figure and toy market.'' That's why Rika was created in the first place.

Digimon Movies

BATTLE OF ADVENTURES
This is the fifth Digimon movie and the first Tamers movie. I saw it and I didn't like it very much, it was kinda boring to me. I don't even remember it well ...

Summer vacations. A new hit on the market - V-pets! Some digital pets on your computer. But these pets are all just part of an evil plan of the evil Digimon Mephistomon who wants to disable the worldwide communications and let Digimon to cross over to the real world anytime they like. If there were only good Digimon that wouldn't be a problem, would it? But OK, Takato is on vacations at his cousin Kai, Henry is investigating an underwater meteorit with Terriermon and Rika ... Rika is staying at home, fighting the evil Digimon with Renamon. In the end of the movie there is supposed to be a super awesome new attack of the Ultimate leveled main Digimon (WarGrowlmon, Rapidmon and Taomon) - the Digimon change into a crystallized form and combine together to form a giand bird made of pure energy - an attack never seen outside the movie (what a shame, maybe they could kill D-Reaper with it! :o). The attack has been dubbed the ''Trinity Burst.'' (I don't remember this, I was probably already asleep by then ... whaaat, I didn't like the movie at all!!)

THE RUNAWAY DIGIMON EXPRESS / RUNAWAY LOCOMON
The sixth Digimon movie is all about Rika! First - it's her birthday (they never tell how old she is!), second - we get to know about her father. I like this movie much better! :p

The Movie begins when Rika and her mother are probably going home and they just pass the train-station. Rika is talking to Takato on the phone, he's secretly prepairing a birthday party for her and he wants to surprise her. Rika knows something stinks in Takato's story about seeing sakura trees and he admits that it's all about her party. She acts annoyed but she smiles at the phone. Suddenly a super fast train goes by and it's not a train, it's a Digimon! A Locomon! Rika ends the conversation and starts running after the crazy Digimon. Renamon joins her and asks her what she's going to do if she catches the train. She says she doesn't know yet and Renamon says to herself: ''As usual.'' (something like that) Well, Rika takes a shortcut and she catches the Digimon. Takato is already on the Locomon and Rika's first idea is to stop the train. They don't succed, Rika just gets posesed by an evil spider-like Digimon, who takes her in her past, in a memory. A park with a swing and a little Rika on it. By the swing is an unknown man and we can't see his whole face. The little Rika becomes the present one and she starts to sing, even though she doesn't like singing. It's her father who's standing by the swing. He doesn't say a word. She takes a walk with her father then but he disappears. Rika isn't in her memory anymore, she's back on the train. Her eyes have an evil look and she takes a random pipe and starts to attack Takato and Renamon. She doesn't stop saying that she wants to sing. The fight continues on the roof of the train and the evil spider-like Digimon shows himself. I think that it was Guilmon (or one of his Digivolutions) who killed the Digimon and set Rika free. But Rika somehow falls from the train and Takato catches her by her hand. Renamon then saves her from falling. But the fight is not over yet. Tousands of the ugly spider-like Digimon are attacking the real world, the gate to the DigiWorld has opened. Tamers and their Digimon digivolve to the Mega level and Justimon comes to help too. They win the battle and go to Rika's birthday party. xD But Rika isn't in the mood for a party, she's just starring in front of her. Suzie (Henry's sister) is singing a song and when she finishes, they ask Rika to sing for them. But she leaves the party and go to another room, thinking about what all had happened. In the end we then see a picture of Rika, her mother and grandmother watching the sakura trees.

Digimon Games

Digimon Games are probably more focused on Digimon not their Tamers but we can still find Rika in some games.

DIGIMON RUMBLE ARENA
All three seasons characters and Digimon in one game! Also Rika involved. Thanks to GamePro for the screenshot! It's a fighting game and Rika fights on Renamon's side.

DIGIMON RACING
Digimon are racing in their small cars. Really cute! There are no DigiDestined or Tamers involved but there is a pic of each of them with their Digimon in the beginning. I'll try to find the game on my computer to show it to you. I'm not sure where it is!

DIGIMON TAMERS - DIGIMON MEDLEY
You can actually play as Rika in this game. And honestly, this is a really odd game. Why? Well, it's called Digimon TAMERS and it starts with Rika, Takato and Henry. You choose one of them - I chose Rika - and then you walk around and fight Digimon with Renamon (in my case). Suddenly you ran into Calumon, who's tied up. You'd probably try to help him but then Impmon shows up and a shiny oktagram appears under your character. In the next scene Rika, Takato, Henry and their Digimon are shown tied up on a cross (which I didn't find very tasteful). That's when the real game begins - with adventure 01. Yeah, you get to play the original digidestined and you play and play and play - the way of playing is the same as in the begining. And after three hours of playing, you finish the adventure 01 and continue with adventure zero two (Davis and co)! So ok, you play the game for another three hours and you finish the zero two part. And again there are Tamers shown hanging on a cross. They're talking about something - no idea what, the game was japanese - and then Guilmon rescues himself and so do everybody else. That's fine I guess. Then again you choose one of the three Tamers and walk around and fight other Digimon ... Impmon is the first 'boss' and when you beat him, Calumon's finally free. After that you walk around even more, fighting other Digimon (now that's when you get reaaaally annoyed). Then you meet Baihumon (the tiger Digimon of the four Sovereigns) and you fight him. You win and Calumon says something and then ... Tai and Matt are shown again. Along with the credits. The game is over. Yeah right, are you serious?? The game's title is Digimon TAMERS but you only play as Tamers for like 15 minutes! That's just sooo odd. But ok, the game is fine - except for the endless Digimon fights ... It took me 6-7 hours to get through the whole game.

DIGIMON TAMERS BATTLE SPIRIT
Digimon fighting again. If you choose Renamon, you can see a picture of Renamon and Rika. And that's not all. In the game you can still see Rika, if you press for example A on your keyboard (I think you can also press Q or W or anything else ...). You see her doing digimodify. Once she's turn into the left, once into the right and once she has Renamon's tail. Not sure why but it's cute although you can only see her for a second or two. I lost my nerves playing this game. I came to the third round, Renamon VS Veemon and I just couldn't beat the damn Digimon! I'll maybe finish it someday but not now ... Now I'm too angry ...
